Lottie McCook, age 93 of Live Oak, FL passed away Sunday morning, September 1, 2013 at Shands Live Oak following a lengthy illness. She was born in Sylvester, GA living most of her life in Live Oak. She is known to her family and friends as “Granny” because of the number of children she baby sat for over the years. She was influential in the growth and development of many folks in this area. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and working in flowers. One of her favorite pastimes was listening to Gospel music and attending to Gospel sings. She also loved animals and over the years has taken in many strays. Most important to her was her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Having been baptized in 1981 she was a Charter Member of the Westside Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Windol (Darlene) McCook of Alachua, Fl; Jimmie (Linda) McCook, Of Lake City, Fl; Gene (Sherry) McCook of Live Oak, and Cleatos (Melissa) McCook of Live Oak, Fl; two daughters, Jeanette (Wayne) Hawkins of Repton, AL and Sissy (Michael) Cofield of Lake Park, Ga. 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Visitation was held, Tuesday, September 3rd from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services were held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in the Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Toby Martin, officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or American Diabetes Association.
