Marchetia Bland Smith, 54 of Live Oak, Florida passed away Wednesday evening, July 23, 2008, in Suwannee Valley Care Center- Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL following a courageous battle with cancer. The Camp Hanford, Washington native had resided in Live Oak, FL most of her life. She was a self-employed beautician. In her spare time she enjoyed art and had won numerous awards for her paintings, pottery and stained glass work. Her artistic talents carried over into the musical realm and her gift allowed her to play several instruments. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include her parents, Dallas and Inez Bland of Live Oak, Fl; two sisters, Debbie Poole, Live Oak, FL; Shan’na and the late Thomas Smith of Mayo, FL; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 6037 Hwy 90 West, Lake City, FL 32055.
