Marguerite Murray Morgan, age 84, of Live Oak, FL passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Surrey Place Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Miami, FL moving to Lake City, FL at the age of fourteen. Marguerite and Denward met at a church party at Granddaddy Morgan’s house. He took her home from the party that night and they got married January 18, 1949. Marguerite was a “stay at home” mom. Her spiritual gift was comforter. She taught Sunday school, VBS and cooked many meals for families in their time of loss. She would come into a home and go to work with cleaning and cooking as needed. She was an artist and painted free hand, water color and oils. She and her sister owned a Ceramic Shop where they poured molds, cooked the item. She and Eldora had a booth at Christmas on the square to sell their handmade crafts. She attended Mt. Beulah Baptist Church and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and Happy Hearts at the Surrey Place Care Center.
She was predeceased by her husband, Denward Morgan on May 20, 2014.
She is survived by one son, Jim (Wanda) Morgan, Live Oak; two daughters, Dianne (David) Parrish, Lakeland, FL; Elizabeth (Mike) Oxendine, Live Oak; one brother, Charles Murray, Lake City, FL; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held, 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. David McKeithen and Rev. Lewis Gooch officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
