Mary Kathleen Check-Cason

Mary Check-Cason, age 72, of McAlpin, FL passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. She was a native of Sandy Hook, Connecticut moving to McAlpin, FL twenty-seven years ago and was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She worked for the Suwannee County School System as a teacher at Suwannee Middle School. She joined and served in the Peace Corp from 1984 to 1989. Mary was the District Past President and local President of the Live Oak Woman’s Club, Past President of Altrusa, Past President of the Woman’s Guild at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and Past Membership Director of the local area Girl Scouts. She loved animals, horses, cows, dogs and cats.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dave Cason, McAlpin, FL; two sisters, Liz Check-Davis, Massachusetts and Maureen Riveria of Connecticut.
Mass was be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 24, 2019 in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Tony Basso officiating.                        The family request no flowers, please.
