Mary Alice Mounger
September 21, 1926 — October 16, 2024
Mary Alice Mounger, age 98, formerly of Live Oak, FL passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Shands UF in Gainesville, FL following a lengthy illness. She was born in Ft. Collins, CO living most of her life in Live Oak, FL before moving to Gainesville, FL nine years ago. She worked as a teacher for many years and was a member and very active in the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and Alter Guild in Live Oak and was also a member of the Teachers Sorority. Mary Alice loved playing golf, bridge, painting and gardening. Her most treasured moments were the times she spent with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Carlton) Hindman, Rancho Palos Verde, CA; Leslie Mounger Peebles (Richard McCauley), Gainesville, FL; one son, John Victor Mounger, Bushnell, FL; seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
