Melvin "Mel" Utendorf

Melvin John Utendorf August 22, 1943 January 13, 2010 Melvin John “Mel” Utendorf, age 66, of Live Oak, Florida passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at his home in Live Oak. The Lima, Ohio native moved to Live Oak, FL in 2005 from Palm Bay, FL. He owned and operated his own land clearing business. Mel loved to work on heavy equipment, liked to work with his hands and was a family man who loved having people around. He enjoyed his cows and called them his pets. Survivors include his wife, Vivian Utendorf, Live Oak, FL; two daughters, Rita Richmond, McAlpin, FL; Mary Prescott, Live Oak, FL; two brothers, John H. Utendorf, Loco, OK; Marvin Utendorf, CA; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Haven Hospice, 6037 Hwy 90 West, Lake City, FL 32055. Graveside services were held, 2:00 PM, Friday, January 15, 2010 in the Live Oak Cemetery with Chaplain Lynwood Walters officiating.
