Millie Mae Parker, age 98, of Live Oak, FL passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Suwannee Health Care and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, moving to Live Oak in 2003 from Davie, FL. She worked as a Label Control Operator for a medical company and was one of the original Rosie The Riveters and was a welder on the warship in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Mrs. Millie loved sewing, embroidering and doing yard work when she was able. She was a member of the Church of God in Dowling Park, FL.
She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Mary Cheney; husband, Melvin Parker, daughter, Faye Payne, brothers Doran Cheney and James Cheney; sisters, Louise Starling and Helen Frederick.
She is survived by one son, Bobby Parker; two daughters, Peggy Alumbaugh and Daisy Dauster; one sister, Ruby Skinner; fourteen grandchildren, forty-nine great grandchildren, forty great-great grandchildren and four great-great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral service were held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Donald Roger officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.
