Modesto Matos July 15, 1929 * September 22, 2010 Modesto Matos, age 81, of Live Oak, FL passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at his home following a brief illness. The Ciales, Puerto Rico native worked for many years as a chef for the well known Restaurant, Mama Leonia in Manhattan, New York. He and his wife of 59 years moved to Live Oak, FL in 2004. He was a member of the St. Luke’s Catholic Church in New York. Survivors include his wife, Bridget Santiago Matos, of Live Oak, FL; four sons, Luis Matos, Tampa, FL; Miguel Matos, Bronx, NY; Daniel Matos, Dover, DE; Steven Matos, Live Oak, FL; two daughters, Diana Perez, Bronx, NY; Mary Ann Borrero, Eatontown, N.J.; one brother, Andres Matos, Puerto Rico; fourteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Memorial services will be held at a later date in New York.
