Paul Buren Chauncey, Jr.

Paul Buren Chauncey, Jr., age 78, of Live Oak, FL passed away peacefully Saturday, May 31, 2025, at his home following a lengthy illness.  A sixth-generation Suwannee Countian, Paul was a life-long resident of Live Oak who dedicated his life to family, faith, and hard work.  A multi-generational farmer, business owner, and respected building contractor, he leaves behind a legacy rooted in stewardship of the land and service to his community.

Paul was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam Conflict.  He was a man of quiet strength and tireless resolve – qualities he carried from the farm fields to the job site, and into the lives of all who knew him.

He found joy in simple pleasures, restoring classic muscle cars, spending time with his faithful dogs and cats, and being surrounded by his family.  Of all his accomplishments, none brought him greater pride than his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Paul B. Chauncey, Sr. and Myrtice Chauncey and sister, Sandi Fuller.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Dottie Chauncey; three sons, Paul “Trey” Chauncey, III, (Annette); Anthony “Tony “Chauncey (Rosie) and Lee Van-Owen Chauncey all of Live Oak; one daughter, Adrienne Chauncey-Corbin (Travis) also of Live Oak; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation was held at 4:00 PM., followed by funeral services at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, at the Rocky Sink Baptist Church located at 8422 169th Road, Live Oak, FL 32060 with Rev. Jimmy Corbin and Rev. Pat Chewning officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.
