Paul D. Langford, Jr., age 78, of Live Oak, FL passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL following a courageous battle with cancer. He was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak. He loved to share his personal journey with God. His life was a true testimony of his faith and trust in the Lord and a blessing to those he touched through his daily walk as a servant of his beloved Heavenly Father. He was a Deacon of Westwood Baptist Church. He retired from the City of Live Oak as the Building Inspector. He served the Florida National Guard proudly for 27 years and ended his military career as a Sgt. First Class. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy and the National Rifle Association. Among his many interests he was an avid hunter and fisherman, a licensed pilot, photographer and ham radio operator. He loved to ride motorcycles, parachuting out of perfectly good airplanes and scuba diving. During quiet times he built model planes and trains. He is survived by his loving wife, Gayle Langford; Live Oak; one son, Paul Dunnaway (Darlene) Langford, III, Live Oak; three daughters, Karen (Jimmy) Hancock; Paula (Steve) Pennington and Pam Taylor; all of Live Oak; one brother, George Langford, Live Oak; two sisters, Inez Bland, Live Oak and Bonnie Sue Cox, Orange Park; eight grandchildren, five step grandchildren, thirteen step great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held, 3:00 PM Saturday, June 11, 2016 in the Westwood Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Yeldell and Dr. Ben Bush officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services at the church from 2:00 until 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the transportation fund at Westwood Baptist Church, 920 Eleventh St., Live Oak, FL 32064.
