Peggy Ruth Howland, age 93, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Birmingham, Alabama. She was born in Frostproof, Florida living most of her life in Live Oak. She alongside her late husband owned and operated Howland’s Feed Mill for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak, Live Oak Woman’s Club and Live Oak Garden Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her first husband, who was killed in WWII, Nathaneal Landen, her second husband, Edward Howland, daughter, Gerri Landen Howland Zebouni and son, John Howland. She is survived by one daughter, Phyliss Howland formally Live Oak. Five grandchildren, Alexis Lloyd, Crystal Howland Pappas, Gabriel Zebouni, Joseph Zebouni and Leila Zebouni Bates and ten great grandchildren, Alex Lloyd, Colton Pappas, Colby Pappas, Hanna Pappas, Halle Pappas, Jordan Zebouni, Nick Zebouni, Chad Bates, Maggie Bates and Jack Bates; one great-great granddaughter, Addilyn Zebouni. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 25, 2020 in the First Baptist Church of Live Oak with Reverend Phillip Herrington, officiating. Interment will follow in the New Harmony Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your hospice of choice, your favorite charity or as Mrs. Peggy would do, take a friend to lunch.
