Raymond "Ray" Higginbotham

Raymond Eugene Higginbotham, age 57, of Lake City, FL formally of McAlpin, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN following a lengthy illness. The Jacksonville, FL native lived most of his life in McAlpin, FL before moving to Lake City two years ago. Ray was a self-employed truck driver. He was a shooting enthusiast who loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Left Lane Gang and the McAlpin Advent Christian Church. He was predeceased by his mother, Clara Higginbotham in September of this year. He is survived by his wife, Pat Higginbotham, Lake City, FL; one son, Duwane (Janet) Higginbotham, McAlpin; his father, Lannie Higginbotham, McAlpin; two step daughters, Amanda Hampton, Chattanooga, TN; Stacy White, Chickamauga, GA; one brother, Danny Higginbotham, McAlpin; one sister, Laura (J.L.) Haynes, McAlpin; one grandchild and five step-grandchildren. Visitation was held Monday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services were held, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in the McAlpin Advent Christian Church with Rev. Luther Rowland officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
