Reginald Heber Scott, Jr., age 88, of Live Oak, FL passed away Friday, September 11, 2015 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. He was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII. He was a farmer and Suwannee County Veteran’s Service Officer for many years. Reggie was a member of Barrett Lodge # 43 and performed Masonic Rites for many years for fallen brothers. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, most often accompanied by his dog “Tip”. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak and associate member of the Suwannee Baptist Church in Suwanee, FL. Reggie will be remembered for growing and selling day lilies at the “Lilly Pad”.
He is survived by one son, Greg (Melinda) Scott, Live Oak; one daughter, Amerette Ridgeway, Live Oak; two sisters, Mary Frances McCullers and Helen (Gerald) Gamble both of Live Oak; four grandchildren, Alexandra Scott, New York, NY; Jennifer Payne, Live Oak; Brad Scott, Ashville, NC and Whitney Kiani, Live Oak.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the services at the church from 10:00 to 11:00
Funeral services were held, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with Mr. Billy Carmichael officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.
