Rev. Silas Bernard Aldridge

Rev. Silas Bernard Aldridge, age 85, of Dowling Park, FL passed away Wednesday evening, May 27, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park following a lengthy illness. Silas pastored churches in Jasper, FL, Brunswick, GA, Gadsden, AL, Wilmington, NC, Live Oak, FL, Clearwater, FL, Kissimmee, FL and Waycross, GA. He was highly respected by his parishioners and colleagues in ministry. He and his wife Mary Lou had been married and inseparable for 65 years. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lewis and Harold and sister-in-law Marlene. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Aldridge, Dowling Park; one daughter, Debra (Matthew) Phillips, Rock Hill, SC; one son, Ron (Deb) Aldridge, Ft. Mill, SC; three brothers, Carl Aldridge, Waycross, GA; Gilbert (Carol) Aldridge, Waycross, GA; Henry (Ann) Aldridge, Waycross, GA; one sister, Carolyn Hutchison, Waycross, GA; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. All friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life, June 13, at 3:00 PM at New Hope Advent Christian Church, 558 Miles Still Rd, Waycross, GA. The service will be casual, “come as you are”. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made “In Memory of Silas B. Aldridge” to the Good Samaritan Center, Camellia Court, P.O. Box 4305, Dowling Park, FL 32064 As per his wishes, finalization will be by cremation.
