Harry Richmond “Rich” Capell, age 89, of Live Oak, FL passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL following a lengthy illness. He was born in Ocala, FL, living most of his life in Live Oak, FL where he worked as an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance Company for many years and was a member of the First Methodist Church. Rich was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp having served two years active duty from August 1953 to August 1955. He was a member of the Live Oak Rotary Club and Suwannee Country Club and was the oldest person to win the club championship.
He was predeceased by his wife, Georgianne Capell, daughter, Linda Gibney, and a brother, Monk Capell.
He is survived by one daughter, Kay (Max) Fulda, Live Oak, FL; son-in-law, Jack Gibney, Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Jill & Casey Crosby, Joseph Gibney and Claire (Nick) Dawson; four great grandchildren, Kailyn Marie Crosby, Dallas Len Crosby, Tanner Casey Crosby and Tate Nicholas Dawson,
Graveside services with full military rites were held, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in the Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. Bill Payne officiating.
