Robert Steven "Steve" Garrett

Robert “Steve” Garrett, age 71, of McAlpin, FL passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center / Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL.  He was born in Belle Glade, FL moving to McAlpin, FL in 1981 from Valdosta, GA. Steve worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and loved mowing and yardwork, dirt track racing and being on his tractor.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Patty Garrett.

He is survived by two sons, Patrick (Jennifer) Garrett, McAlpin, FL; Bo (Windi) Garrett, Lake City, FL; one daughter, Cara (Kyle) Luke, Beeville, TX; three brothers, Randy Lancy, Cario, GA; Greg (Roz) Garrett, Hahira, GA and Jason Garrett, Valdosta, GA; three sisters, Barbara Raines, Jennifer (Sammy) Izell and Susan (Tony) Wainright all of Valdosta, GA; Eight grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held, 6:30 PM, Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Stanley Luke officiating.  Private interment will be held in the Live Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
