Robert Eugene Sheppard, Jr.

Robert Eugene Sheppard, Jr. “Gene”, age 62, of Live Oak, FL passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at the HCA Florida Suwannee Emergency in Live Oak, FL following a sudden illness. Gene was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak, FL where he worked as a truck driver and was a member of the Orange Baptist Church.  He loved gardening, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Live Oak Elks Lodge #1165.

He is survived by his father, Robert Eugene Sheppard, Sr., Live Oak, FL; his companion, Anita Lloyd, Live Oak, FL; two sons, Colton (Miranda) Sheppard, Lake City, FL and Robert E. “Trey” Sheppard, III, Live Oak, FL; two daughters, Brandi (James) Clark and Shelly (Troy) Byrd, both of Mayo, FL; one brother, Parker Sheppard, Live Oak, FL and eight grandchildren.

Visitation was  held prior to the services from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral services were held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Matthew Barker officiating. Interment followed in the Orange Baptist Church Cemetery.
