Ronald "Ronnie" David Poole, age 77, of Live Oak, FL, passed away Thursday evening, September 18, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lake City, Florida on August 2, 1948, to Loy and Jewel Poole. He grew up in Live Oak and graduated from Suwannee High School in 1966. He continued his education at Lake City Community College, earning an associate degree in Forestry, and later a degree in Business Administration from Valdosta State University in 1971. After graduation, he was called to serve in the Marine Air Reserves.
In 1970, he married Renee Preston, beginning a journey of love and devotion that would span 55 years. After returning to Live Oak from the Marines, Ronnie worked for his father at Poole Timber Company for several years. During that time, he discovered he had a passion for real estate and began working part-time with the Daniel Crapps Agency. What started as a side job, quickly became a calling. In 1990, Ronnie took over the business and founded Poole Realty-a name that would come to symbolize integrity, service, and trust in Suwannee County and beyond.
For over three decades, Ronnie dedicated himself to serving clients. For Ronnie, it was never about selling real estate, it was a ministry. It was about people, serving them, loving them, and helping them find a place to call home. His work became an extension of the man he was generous, compassionate, and always willing to go the extra mile.
Ronnie was a man of deep faith. A devoted member of First Baptist Church, he served faithfully as a deacon and on the Board of Directors. His dedication to the Lord and the community extended far beyond the church walls. He volunteered with countless clubs, committees and initiatives - including his efforts to help establish Heritage Park and Gardens, a space that reflects his heart for beauty, legacy and community. He was known for stepping in where he was needed, leading with quiet integrity and unwavering commitment. He loved Suwannee County deeply and the community loved him in return. He was truly an example of God's grace and a light in this world.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Renee, two children, Laura (Robert) Hosay and Andrew (Nicole) Poole, six cherished grandchildren, Hannah, RJ, Waylon, Harley, Emily, and Nash; and one brother, Bobby Poole.
Visitation was held, Wednesday, September 24, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the Family Ministry Building at the First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 11:00am with the Reverend Dr. Steve Sweitzer officiating. A private family burial was held prior to the service.
