Ruby Dallas Crews Clements, age 89 of Kennesaw, GA, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Heritage Brookstone in Kennesaw, GA. She was a native of Suwannee County, FL, moving to Kennesaw, GA several years ago. She lived in several cities in Florida and spent a short time in Canada but always considered Suwannee County her home. She was a homemaker until she decided to attend community college in her early 40’s. She earned an AA degree from Lake City Community College and became the secretary for the English Department at the college after graduation. She worked for many years at the college before becoming the secretary at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake City, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kendrick Smith Clements of Suwannee County, son John Clements of Chicago, IL and parents William Clayton (WC) and Julia Crews of Suwannee County, FL.
Survivors include her sister, Linda Pearl Burton, Gainesville, FL; her son, Donald Clements (Linda), Kennesaw, GA; three grandchildren, Anna Clements Brandt (Josh), Topeka, KS, John Eric Clements (LaTasha), Martinsburg, WV, and Julia Lynn Clements, Reading, PA; three great-grandchildren, James, Makayla, Elijah.
Funeral service were held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 10:45 am in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in McAlpin, FL with Pastor Steve Gregg officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held at the church from 10:00 am until 10:45 am on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.
