Rufus Webster Bailey, Sr.

Rufus Webster Bailey, Sr., age 92, of Live Oak, FL passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Suwannee Health Care Center in Live Oak. He was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak and a Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. He worked in the maintenance department for the Suwannee County School Board and was a member of the Marybelle Baptist Church. He loved his family dearly and was content spending all his time on his farm. He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Delores Bailey. He is survived by one son, Rufus “Bo” (Linda) Bailey, Jr., Live Oak; two daughters, Barbara “Genevore” (Chuck) Shirah, Birmingham, AL; Phyllis Ann Bailey, Live Oak; three sisters, Sybil Gordon, Live Oak; Merle Pattersall, Poplar Bluff, MO; Joan Ross, Tavares, FL; four grandchildren, Cindy (Greg) Compton, Julie Shirah, Chet (Lacey) Bailey, Felicia (David) Manning; six great grandchildren, Alyssa Manning, Emmalee Manning, Bryce Bailey, Bryan Bailey all of Live Oak; Bailey Compton, Delaney Compton both of Port Huron, MI. Visitation was held Wednesday, March 25th from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services were held 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2015 in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Darrell Curls officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery.
