Russell MacDonald Johnson, age 88, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away, Monday, October 5, 2026, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center / Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida following a lengthy illness.  He was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak where he owned and operated Johnson's Radio Shack for many years. Russell was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Live Oak Elks Lodge for over sixty years and was the past president of the booster club.  He loved fishing, camping and spending time with his family and his pets. He could also be remembered for the countless hours he spent refereeing sports and was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Mildred Johnson, a son, Russell "Russ" Johnson, II.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Roylyn Johnson, Live Oak, FL; three daughters, Debra Johnson, Wellborn, FL; Paula Faust, Baton Rouge, LA and Janis (Bill) Brothers, Live Oak, FL; one brother, Larry Johnson, San Francisco; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church or the Florida Elks Children's Therapy.
