Russell Dean Mathis, age 85, formally of Live Oak, FL, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 in Perry, FL. He was born in Carroll County, Tennessee living most of his life in Live Oak before moving to Perry, FL five years ago. He was a sergeant in the Florida National Guard and loved fishing and playing softball.
He is survived by one son, Stephen Mathis, Live Oak, FL; three daughters, Monica Mathis and Donna Mathis both of Perry, FL and Belinda Jaco, Mooresville, NC; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.
As per his wishes, finalization will be by cremation.
