Sam Stephens Fann

Sam Fann January 27, 1925*January 19, 2011 Sam Fann age 85, of Live Oak, Florida passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 19, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park, FL following a lengthy illness. The Ft. Myers, FL native moved to Live Oak, FL in 1951 from Quitman, GA. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during WWII. He graduated from FSU with a degree in accounting and worked for Alltel Phone Company as an accounting manager for many years. Sam was a life member of the Live Oak Lions Club and member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Fann, Live Oak, FL; one son, Stephen Fann, Tallahassee, FL; one daughter, Margaret (Chris) Pieser, Ocoee, FL; one brother, James Fann, Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Eloise Womble, Titus, AL and Norma Brown, Jacksons Gap, AL; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation for friends and family was held from 4 to 6 PM Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at the funeral home. Private funeral services were held with Rev. Phillip Herrington officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to the Advent Christian Village, P.O. Box 4305, Dowling Park, FL or a favorite charity.
