Sandra “Sandi” Matier, age 75, of Live Oak, FL, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL following a brief illness. She was born in Albion, Michigan moving to Live Oak in 1999 from Idaho. She worked as an office manager in the medical field and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. Sandi loved crocheting, growing African violets, reading, going to flea markets and camping with her husband on the beach and looking for sea glass. She was an artist in the kitchen where she enjoyed cooking for her family. She also volunteered for the First Baptist Church Food ministry and Guardian Ad Litem.
She was predeceased by a step-son, David Matier, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, as she called him, “the love of her life,” David Matier, Live Oak; two sons, Keith (Rachele) Freeman, Colorado Springs, CO; Timothy (Samantha) Freeman, Columbia, SC; two daughters, Kathleen Gwynne-Thomas and Beth Gwynne-Thomas both of Live Oak; one step-son, Michael Lee (Alexa) Matier, Columbia City, IN; two step-daughters, Karen (Jason) Dafforn and Kathryn (Bob) Bowers, Tampa, FL; two brothers, Ralph David (Pauline) Coombs, Jr., Roy, Utah and Ronald D. Coombs, Las Vegas, NV; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Norman and Pastor Marc Grizzard officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.
