Susan Newland Grooms

Susan Newland Grooms, age 67, of Live Oak, FL passed away suddenly, Wednesday evening, September 10, 2014 at Shands Live Oak. She was born in Seattle, Washington moving to Live Oak in 1975 from Oak Harbor, WA. She worked as a medical transport driver for the V.A. Medical Center. Susan loved going horseback riding,crafts, oil painting and making blankets. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Grooms, Jr., Live Oak; one daughter, Jennifer Brown, Live Oak, FL; one step-daughter, Lisa Banton, Sanford, FL; one step-son, Glen Newland, Cooper City, FL; one sister, Nancy Charbonneau, Olympia, WA; one grandchild. Visitation was held Sunday evening from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services were held, 11:00 AM, Monday, September 15, 2014 in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Perko officiating. Internment followed in the Rocky Sink church cemetery.
