Thomas Francis Hehir

Thomas Francis Hehir, age 91, of Live Oak, FL passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Shands Live Oak. He was born in New York, NY moving to Live Oak in 1974 from North Miami Beach, FL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WW II as a Gunners Mate 3C. Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus – 4th Degree Assembly #2897 in Lake City, FL, the American Legion Post 107 in Live Oak, the Tin Can Sailors and a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Hehir and a son, Thomas F. Hehir, Jr. He is survived by three sons, Jim Hehir, Marietta, GA; Steve Hehir, Port St. Lucie, FL; Matt Hehir, Pembroke Pines, FL; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held, 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 20, 2014 in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Andy Mitera officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church building fund, P.O. Box 1179, Live Oak, FL 32-64.
