Tillman Lamar Watson

Tillman Lamar Watson, age 74, of Live Oak, Florida passed away Saturday November 5, 2011 in Shands at U.F. in Gainesville, Florida. He was a native of Thomasville, Georgia living most of his life in Live Oak, FL where he owned and operated Live Oak Paint Center. He was a member of Morocco Temple of the Shrine and Past President of the Live Oak Shrine Club. He was also a member of Hayward Lodge #45 F & AM. Tillman was recognized in 2008 as a founder of the Village Builders’ Guild of the Advent Christian Village. He loved to shoot squirrels in his yard and was an avid Gator fan. Tillman was known for his love of just “doing” for others and was a faithful member of the First Advent Christian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder and chairman.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Sue White Watson and a step-son, Wayne Nobles.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Watson, Live Oak, FL; one son, Brad Watson, Live Oak; one daughter, Teresa Corbin, Jacksonville, FL; two step-daughters, Gloria Davis, Live Oak, FL; Harriet Bates, Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Leon Watson, Avon Park, FL; two step brothers, Curtis Nelson and Edwin Nelson both of Avon Park, FL; three sisters, Tiny Baughan, Avon Park; Martha Beckham, Live Oak; Nelda Phillips, Melbourne, FL; two grandchildren, Micah Ezell and John Ezell; five step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; one great-great grandson and one step great-great grandson.
Visitation was held, Tuesday, Nov. 8th from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in the First Advent Christian Church with Rev. Tim Carver officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.
