Victoria Elisabeth Horvath was welcomed to the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. She was thirty-two years old. She was born on May 28, 1989, at Hamilton County Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Florida. The eldest child of Glenn and Cindy Horvath, she is described as brave, persistent, and life loving. Victoria is also remembered for her love for others. She cared deeply for her family and friends. Even as a small child, she never seemed to meet a stranger. She showed no fear of others, and she was genuinely interested in knowing the people around her. Everyone was a friend.

Victoria was educated at home throughout elementary and high school. She was active in 4-H, and she enjoyed participating in activities and competitions throughout the state, including public speaking and showing cattle. She graduated in 2008, and afterwards, she attended EMT school. Victoria also spent time in Tennessee working on staff at Camp Tipton. She returned to Live Oak in 2012 and worked a number of jobs, including at her favorite place to eat, Chick-fil-A. She loved to travel and went on mission trips with family to Brazil and Roatan, Honduras.

Victoria was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2016. Although she often struggled with her illness, she was determined to persevere and overcome the challenges that came her way. She did everything she could to make sure her disease did not keep her from truly living. She continued traveling and visited waterfalls in Colorado, hiked glaciers in Alaska, saw the Northern Lights, and spent time with family and friends throughout the US.

Victoria loved her hometown of Live Oak and continued to serve her community. She volunteered at her church, The Orchard Community Church, by decorating for events and contributing any way she could. She helped in the media, sound, and children’s departments. She threw baby showers and parties for her family and friends. She also worked hard to grow her Mary Kay business, combining her love of connecting with others and providing services to them. She also volunteered at the Pregnancy Center of Live Oak and was recently recognized as Volunteer of the Year in the Live Oak office.

One of Victoria’s favorite Bible verses was Romans 8:18, which says, “The pain that you’ve been feeling is nothing compared to the joy that is coming.” Victoria made the most important decision of her life at the age of 8 when she decided to accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior. While Victoria suffered from her illness, she lived with hope knowing it would one day be over, and there was joy ahead. She made the most of her time on earth by living with joy and loving those around her to the fullest of her ability.

Victoria is preceded in death by her grandfather Joe Jordan, Aunt Lynn Buchanan, Uncle Joe Henry Jordan, and cousin Callie Jordan. She is survived by her grandparents Carl and Edith Horvath and Julia Jordan, her parents Glenn and Cindy Horvath, siblings Philip and wife Jordan Horvath, Andrew and wife Rose Horvath, and Caroline Horvath, as well as her nephew Boaz Joseph and niece Piper Joy (June 2022). In addition, she is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A service celebrating Victoria’s life was held on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 3 PM at First Baptist Church of Live Oak, Florida. A visitation was held prior to the service at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Victoria’s honor to The Orchard Community Church at Live Oak, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering through First Baptist Church Live Oak, or to the Pregnancy Care Center of Live Oak, Florida.
