Virginia Latrelle Dees

Virginia Latrelle Dees, age 88, of Live Oak, FL, passed away, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida following a lengthy illness.  She was born in Greenville, FL, moving to Live Oak in 1998 from Jacksonville, Florida.  She worked for AT & T for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak.  Virginia loved traveling and hosting family and friends get togethers.  Her most treasured moments were the times she spent with her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Grover and Rose Bishop, her husband, Rudy Dees and a sister, Christine Blanton.

She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Dees, Live Oak, FL and Susan (Larry) Weaver, Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Faye (Kenneth) Black, Live Oak, FL; three grandchildren, Seth (Jessica) Wingate; Shea (Katie) Wingate and Reece (Will) Allman; one great grandchild, Sloane Wingate.

Visitation will be held, Friday, January 16, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.  

Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Black officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 3507 Frontage Rd, Tampa, FL 33607.
