Walter “Walt” Wilkinson, age 94, of Live Oak, FL, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, FL. He was born in North Stonington, Conn. and was raised in Dover Plains, NY.  He started to roam at the age of sixteen and didso until entering the Navy during WWII.  He served twenty two months in the south pacific and later joined the USAF.  He was invalided out of the services and made his home in San Diego, California, coming to Florida in 1979.  He had made his home in Live Oak since 1987.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pat, of 48 years. Also a brother, Ellsworth and sister, Lillian Swanson.  He loved back porch country pickin and grinin and played the mandolin, guitar, four string banjo and harmonicas.  Above all else he loved the Lord and hoped he was of some service to him.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Wilkinson, St. Augustin, FL and James Wilkinson, Live Oak, FL; one brother, Everett Wilkinson, St. Petersburg, FL; three sisters, Lucille Wilson, Kingsport, TN; Beatrice Abernathy, Kingsport, TN and Evelyn Brewer, Danville, VA; one grandchild.
