Wanda Mae Brown Chambliss, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday
morning, February 2, 2025. Wanda was born on December 16,1934, in San Angelo,
Texas. She moved to Live Oak, Florida in 1945.
Wanda was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a
hard worker who loved and cared for her children, grandchildren, and parents. She was
a member of the Live Oak Church of God. Wanda took great pride in her beautiful yard
and rock gardens. Wanda helped her husband with Live Oak Drug Company in
downtown Live Oak. Wanda loved animals and had many dogs, cats, and rabbits over
the years.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Wilkes Brown, Sr. and Gladys
Alma Broyles Brown Green, husband of 65 years, John Austin Chambliss, four brothers,
Grover Wilkes Brown, Jr., Wilbur Lee Brown, Robert Ellis Brown, and Harvey Allen
Brown, son, Richard Jay Chambliss, grandsons, Michael Joseph DeBono, Jr. and
Jonathan Bryce Galloway, and great-great-granddaughter, Aspen Ellis Cribbs.
Wanda is survived by two brothers, Gerald Dean (Marlene) Brown of Live Oak, Florida,
Kenneth Dale Brown of Jacksonville, Florida, son, Johnny (Melanie) Chambliss,
daughters, Darlene (Bruce) Galloway, Tamie (Mike) DeBono, all of Live Oak, Florida,
granddaughters, Lindy (Jeff) Riley of Temecula, California, Shanna (Rody) Santiago of
Newberry, Florida, Angela DeBono of Gainesville, Florida, Camill (Aaron) Garcia of
Fayetteville, North Carolina, Alexis (Clayton) Blevins of Cameron, North Carolina,
grandsons, Tyler (Sarah) Chambliss of Summerville, Florida, Brad (Meagan) Chambliss
of Live Oak, Florida. Wanda is survived by 17 great-grandchildren, Lacey, Taylor,
Katelyn, Kendall, Kai, Lucia, Evie, Colt, River, Camden, Storm, Brayden, Addison,
Maverick, Kennedy, Asher, and Colby and three great-great grandchildren, Hasten,
Hyatt, and Suttyn.
The family sincerely appreciates the wonderful, loving care given to Wanda by her
caregivers, including Calleen Ehemann, Holly Wilson, Heidi McIntosh, and Doris
Vences. Caregiving is not just about providing physical assistance but about nurturing
the soul and healing the heart. These ladies have given our loved one peace.
A visitation service was held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Harris
Funeral Home of Live Oak, Florida. Funeral services were held in the Harris Funeral Home
Chapel at 11:00 A.M with Rev. Tim Carver officiating.  Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Suwannee Valley Humane Society.
