Wayne “Bull” Winburn, age 80, of Mayo, FL passed Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. He was born in Sebring, FL and was a life-long resident of Mayo, FL. Bull retired from the Department of Corrections as the Recreational Director. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #119 of Mayo, Order of Eastern Star #196 and the Morocco Temple Shrine Club. In his spare time he loved riding horses, being a cattleman and researching his family history.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Winburn, Mayo, FL; one son, Wayne “Bobby” (Hayley) Winburn, Jr., Mayo, FL; one daughter, Hilga Winburn, Mayo, FL; two grandchildren Hunter and McKenzie Winburn.
Funeral services were held 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 11, 2017 in the Mayo Baptist Church with Rev. Rick James and Rev. Bob Scott officiating. Interment followed in the Wayfare Cemetery in Mayo. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 1 to 2 PM at the church.
