William "Billy" Christensen

William “Billy” Christensen, age 64, of Live Oak, FL, passed away, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Shands UF in Gainesville, FL following a lengthy illness.  He was born in Hartford Connecticut on November 27, 1961, to Don Merle and Leah Irene Christensen. He was the youngest of three sons. In 1969, at the age of 8 years old, the family moved to Live Oak FL where he lived until his death. At a very early age Billy became well known in Live Oak, especially at Western Auto. He would ride his bike there to buy matchbox cars and then when he got tired of them, he would take them back and tell them they weren’t fast enough and wanted to trade them in for different ones. The proprietor would always graciously grant his requests. Billy at a very young age had a love of mechanics, he would always take things apart and try to fix them. He loved rodeos and enjoyed participating in the bulldogging events; he also loved fishing. 

He is survived by his mother, Leah Irene and his two brothers Chris and Gary Christensen and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will always be missed and loved dearly! 

Memorial services were held 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 7, 2026, in the Brody Harris Memorial Chapel with Tim Brown officiating.
