William Claude Fillyaw December 22,1931*February 14, 2011 William Claude Fillyaw, age 79, of Live Oak, Florida passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at the V. A. Medical Center in Lake City, FL following a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Live Oak, FL, he had resided in Tampa for forty years prior to moving back to Suwannee County in 2001. He was a U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient having served as a Corporal during the Korean War. He worked for many years in road construction for the W.L. Cobb Construction Company and was a member of the Luraville Baptist Church. In his spare time he loved to fish and tend his gardens. He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis James and Idella Music Fillyaw and a son Samuel Lewis Fillyaw. Survivors include his wife, Doris Fillyaw of Live Oak, FL; three daughters, Peggy Hunnicutt, Dade City, FL; Donna Alvarez, Land 'o Lakes, FL; Deborah Cameron, Tampa, FL; three brothers, Lewis Fillyaw, Live Oak, FL; Jimmie Fillyaw, Deland, FL and O.T. Fillyaw, Dowling Park, FL; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, February 19th, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Luraville Baptist Church with Pastors Ronald Russ and Tom Bankston, officiating.
