William Friar

William Friar, age 69, of Live Oak, FL, passed away, Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the HCA Florida Lake City Hospital, Suwannee campus. He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, moving to Live Oak in 2021 from Wimauma, FL.  He worked as a yacht mechanic and loved living in Suwannee County.  He loved animals and was an outdoors man. He loved shooting guns, collecting ammo and shooting ballistics, doing scientific studies of the mechanics motion and effects of projectiles and was a member of the Grand Owners and Tampa Sailing Squadron. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Grace Friar and a sister, Claudia W. Roberts.

He is survived by his life partner, Lisa Moore; one son, William H. Friar, Jr.; one brother, Delbert Roberts; two sisters, Kathryne Gentile and Margurite Roberts Hawes.

Celebration of life services will be held, Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, at Big Woods Barbecue and Grill, 314 72nd Trace, Live Oak, FL 32064.
