William Leslie Owen, Sr., “Bill”, age 81, of Live Oak, FL, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the Surrey Place Care Center in Live Oak, FL, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief battle with cancer.  Bill was a native and life-long resident of Live Oak, FL and served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1956 to 1960. He worked as an Insurance agent with Life of Georgia Insurance Company for thirty-three years.   He was a member of the First Advent Christian Church, the Suwannee Quarterback Club, Live Oak Shrine Club, Master Mason and secretary of Hayward Lodge #45 F&AM, and a current member of Barrett Lodge #43 F & AM and the Morocco Temple. Bill loved traveling with his wife and their most recent trip was to Alaska where they visited the Glacier Mountains.  His most treasured moments were when he was with his family.

He was predeceased by his father, Leslie Owen, his mother, Willie Hawkins and step-father, Steve Skipper.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Evon Owen, Live Oak, FL; two daughters, Dianne (Sid) Allen and Debbie (Chip) Harris both of Live Oak, FL; one son, Bill (Kathryn) Owen, Jr., Jasper, FL; one sister, Bettie Frances (Bill) McCall Morell five grandchildren, Leslie (Scott) Allen, Natalie (Bryan) Brown, Tyler Harris, Anna Owen and Trey Owen; two great grandchildren, Brody Brown and Raelynn Brown.

Funeral services were held, 11:00 AM, Friday, July 2, 2021 in the First Advent Christian Church with Mr. Herman Gunter officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery with Masonic Rites at the graveside.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the services from 10:00 to 11:00 at the church.
