Meet Our Caring Staff
Our staff members are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors.
Debbie Harris is the second daughter born to Bill & Evon Owen. She graduated from Suwannee High in 1976 and married Chip Harris in 1978. She is a Past President of the Live Oak Junior Women's Club and is a life-member of the Suwannee River Woman's Club. She is a member of the Suwannee Quarterback Club, Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce, Westwood Baptist Church and has served as its Pre-School Dept. 1 Director since 1992. Debbie has three children; Brody IV, Natalie, Tyler and four grandchildren; Lilly Harris, Zoe Harris, Palmer Harris and Brody Brown. She loves spending time with her family and working in her yard. When in the Florida Keys, she will fish from daylight 'til dark.
Roger A. Rathbun was born in Flint, Michigan to the late Roger E. and Alice Rathbun. He moved from Michigan in the fall of 1980 to Suwannee, Florida where he met Brody Harris, Jr. About a year later Brody asked Roger to come to work for him at the funeral home. They agreed that he would try it out for a while, that was September 13, 1981. He worked with Brody for many years and is still working with Brody's son “Chip” Harris today. He graduated from Oscoda High School in the Bi-Centennial year (1976) and went to Gupton-Jones Mortuary College and graduated in the Millennium year, (2000).
He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Florida Funeral Director’s Association, the Live Oak Elk’s Lodge #1165 and Victory Baptist Church. He loves to fish, hunt, and enjoys bowling.
He married Lisa G. Bennett in 1984 and they have two sons Chris and Levi.
